Refinance Mortgage or Buy a Car
The Court and your bankruptcy Trustee now handle all of your financial matters. This means before you do anything that affects your finances, you must first get the Court's approval. For example, if you want to refinance your home or buy a car, contact me so I can ask the Court's permission.

Credit Report
A Chapter 13 bankruptcy stays on your credit report for seven years. However, you can start rebuilding your credit score shortly after filing for bankruptcy. Some creditors don't mind dealing with people who have filed bankruptcy because those people have almost no other debt.

End of Your Case
To get out of Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you must make all the payments outlined in your repayment plan. You must complete a second credit/bankruptcy counseling class, and you must be current with your child support obligations, if any. In either case, as your bankruptcy attorney, I have to report that to the Court.

Payoff Estimate
If you'd like an estimate of your case's payoff amount, contact the Trustee's office.
